Are you planning or helping to plan a wedding & would really like to do some or all of your own flower arrangements?
If so, this course is for you.
We start with a general introduction over a cup of tea and cake. We swiftly move onto talking about how to condition flowers, discuss which flowers are suitable for different situations and whats available at various times of year. We talk about the basic floristy tools you will require.
For the rest of the morning session we concentrate on Bridal party flowers: There will be a demonstration on how to arrange a hand tied bouquet and two styles of button holes. We will discuss bridal headwear and wrist corsages too and you then get the opportunity to make a handtied bouquet yourself and at least two different style button holes including some wiring if you wish to have a go. The morning is very much tailored to who is on the course and the items of interest to them.
We then stop for lunch, all of which is included as part of the course, and over lunch discuss various types of church and venue flowers that we then develop further in the afternoon session.
Church and venue flowers are again very varied, so we will talk about a variety of solutions followed by demonstrations and hands on tuition to help develop your skills and understanding.
The classes are only small so there will be plenty of one-to-one tuition should you require it. All flowers, tools and accessories are provided in the cost of the course. Spaces in our workshops are limited so do book early.
If you have always wanted to have your own cutting patch of beautiful scented flowers this course is for you. We will cover the preparation, planting, maintaining and harvesting of buckets of British flowers.
Advice will be given on Spring planting of bulbs, perennials and annuals in order that you can have flowers from March to November.
